What We Collect

• Text you submit for analysis is sent to our API for processing and is not stored.
• For free-tier users, we store a hashed (anonymized) version of your IP address to enforce the 3 checks/day limit. The original IP is never stored.
• For Pro subscribers: your email address and subscription status only.

What We Don't Do

• We do not track your browsing history.
• We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
• We do not store the text you analyze.
• We do not use cookies or tracking pixels.

Permissions We Use

• activeTab — to read selected text on the current tab when you invoke FakeCheck.
• contextMenus — to add the "Check with FakeCheck" right-click menu option.
• storage — to save your Pro key locally in Chrome so you don't have to re-enter it.
• scripting — to display the floating result panel on the page after analysis.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your payment details.
